The #PreventGBV project
Fundación Diagrama coordinates the #PreventGBV project. Its main aim is to prevent gender-based violence (GBV) among young people in custodial and community sanctions in juvenile justice systems, with a focus on cyberviolence.
It will help to identify and prevent gender-based cyberviolence (GBCV) among young people and to develop digital skills in relation to this. The project will be developed over the next two years and is co-financed by the European Union through the CERV-2021-DAPHNE Programme.
The activities of the project are divided into different ‘Work Packages’. These will cover a wide range of activities such as creating training materials and workshops on the prevention of GBCV, implementing and evaluating said workshops, and sharing knowledge and experiences to contribute to the dissemination of the project.
Young people have an important part to play in the realisation of these activities, co-creating training materials, taking part in tailored workshops, and raising awareness among their peers, families, and communities.
#PreventGBV partners
The #PreventGBV project has 6 partner organisations from 5 countries:
Kick-off meeting of #PreventGBV
The project’s launch meeting was held in Murcia, Spain, on the 3rd and 4th of March with the participation of representatives from the different countries’ partner organisations. The aim of the meeting was to establish and organise their joint work in the project and plan the initial activities.
The meeting included discussions about the project’s financial, technical and dissemination aspects, the topics that it will address, its main target groups – both young people in conflict with the law and the professionals that help them – and how to reach them, the possible risks in the development of the project, and how partners may eventually evaluate the success of their efforts.
Next steps
Each partnership is currently investigating the themes of the project within the context of their respective countries and more generally, in the Europe-wide context. They are also in the midst of preparing the materials for the project and contacting young people in conflict with the law and juvenile justice professionals who may wish to take part. Website
