Fundación Diagrama takes part in the `SHIELD´ project to promote the protection of children in care facilities

The `SHIELD´ project, which has the objective of strengthening the protection of children in care facilities in order to facilitate the communication of situations of violence, gathered its multinational network of experts in Cyprus this November. The team was made up of professionals from the partner organisations, including two members of the R&D department of Fundación Diagrama.

On the 5th and 6th of November, professionals from the Research and Development (R&D) Department of Fundación Diagrama attended the first multinational meeting of partner organisations of the ‘SHIELD: Strengthening child protection in care facilities to support disclosure of violence’ project in Nicosia (Cyprus).

This project is co-financed by the CERV-2025-DAPHNE Programme of the European Union and coordinated by the Cypriot entity Hope for Children. The other organisations joining Fundación Diagrama in this project are Verein für Männer und Geschlechterthemen Steiermark (Austria), The Smile of the Child (Greece), CESIE Ente Del Terzo Settore (Italy), and Center for Equality Advancement (Lithuania).

‘SHIELD’ addresses the need for integrated child protection systems in EU Member States. The project seeks to improve the protection of children and young people in care facilities, through the development of a comprehensive interinstitutional model for protection in these centres in order to facilitate the communication of situations of violence. This model will be used as the basis to develop training addressed to young people and professionals in the field.

During the first multinational meeting, the partner organisations planned out the different aspects of this project´s global management, as well as the first activities to develop for investigation and involvement of young people and participating professionals in their respective countries.

On its part, Fundación Diagrama has created a web section in Spanish and in English to spread the information, results and final products of the project. This section will be expanded as new updates are incorporated, while also gathering the news that the project generates.
